For those in the humanities, consider adding an internship to your department’s major(s). According to the 2014 Hannover Research report “Trends in Undergraduate Education in the Humanities” (pp. 12-13), the most heavily weighted factor for a graduate’s employability is participation in an internship. It ranks higher in importance than a graduate’s major, extracurricular activities, coursework, GPA, and college reputation.
